Football Recap: Jacob Mahoney Leads Bishop England's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

Bishop England had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 6-3 to make it four. They took a 31-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluffton Bobcats. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Battling Bishops, who until this contest were averaging 15 points allowed.

Even if they lost, Bishop England's defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. In that department, Jacob Mahoney was the leader with two. Hunter Alex was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

As for Bluffton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.7 points over those games.

Aedan McCarthy produced another solid performance throwing for 231 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 47 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Kordell Holley, who rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown.

Bishop England wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-0 victory against Colleton County on the 31st. As for Bluffton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-21 win against May River on the 30th.
