Volleyball Recap: Anson Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Anson can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Southwestern Randolph Cougars on Tuesday. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-11, 25-16.

Southwestern Randolph got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Calli Mooneyhan out in front who had 11 digs and three assists. That's the most assists Mooneyhan has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Madilyn Baker, who had eight digs and two assists.

Anson's loss dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Southwestern Randolph, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Anson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwestern Randolph, they have already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Bunn on the 23rd.
