Softball Recap: Waterloo Bulldogs vs. Freeburg Midgets

With a playoff game on the line, Waterloo rose to the challenge on Friday. They never let the Freeburg Midgets onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for Waterloo who now have six in a row.

Not much got past Mia Miller, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Freeburg off the board. Miller has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 22 consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mallory Thompson, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Waterloo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. As for Freeburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 31-4.
