Softball Recap: First Colonial Comes Up Short

First Colonial lost to Ocean Lakes back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriots lost 11-1 to the Dolphins. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

First Colonial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maura Haesler, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Haesler has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for First Colonial and nudges their season record down to 8-7. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Ocean Lakes, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. First Colonial is set to square off against their familiar foe Cox at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ocean Lakes will challenge rival Tallwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
