Basketball Recap: Saugerties Falls Short of New Paltz in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Saugerties can now relate to. They lost 67-43 to the New Paltz Huguenots on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Sawyers have suffered since February 4th.

Saugerties' loss came despite strong showings from Jahmia Snyder and Dominick Salamone. Snyder posted 12 points along with five boards and three steals, while Salamone scored nine points and five rebounds. That's the most points Salamone has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mccoy Rothe, who had nine points.

Saugerties' loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for New Paltz, the win was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.

Saugerties does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Paltz, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 73-53 defeat against Byram Hills on the 11th.
