Basketball Game Preview: North Lincoln Knights vs. Statesville Greyhounds

North Lincoln is 8-2 against Statesville since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in North Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 23 matchups.

North Lincoln had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 45-point drubbing they dealt Foard on Monday. North Lincoln blew past Foard, posting a 94-49 victory. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

North Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Chandler, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 19 points. The dominant performance gave Chandler a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ty Sanders, who went 7-for-9 en route to 18 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Statesville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against West Iredell on Monday as Statesville made off with an 85-65 victory. The win continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

North Lincoln has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.2 points over those games. As for Statesville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9.

North Lincoln strolled past Statesville in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 68-49. Will North Lincoln repeat their success, or does Statesville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
