Lexington came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 70-56 victory over the Belmont Marauders. Given the Minutemen's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Marauders are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lexington's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Belmont, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Lexington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-56 victory against Concord-Carlisle on the 18th. As for Belmont, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wilmington at 7:15 p.m.
