Volleyball Recap: Pacifica Comes Up Short

Pacifica was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Rio Mesa Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Pacifica took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-21, 25-23.

Pacifica's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Rio Mesa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pacifica will take on rival Ventura at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rio Mesa is set to square off against their familiar foe Buena at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
