Basketball Recap: Montague Takes a Loss

Montague was the 56-51 winner over Oakridge when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Montague Wildcats had to suffer through a 77-47 loss at the hands of the Oakridge Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while the Eagles are ranked 241st).

Montague's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Oakridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Montague Wildcats take on the Muskegon Heights Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakridge, they will challenge Ludington at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
