Softball Game Preview: Dayton Christian WARRIORS vs. Oakwood Lumberjacks

Dayton Christian is 0-3 against Oakwood since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The WARRIORS will welcome the Lumberjacks at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Dayton Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 28 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Carroll on Friday. They lost 13-1 to the Patriots.

Meanwhile, Oakwood didn't have quite enough to beat Twin Valley South on Saturday and fell 13-11.

Isa Dunlap made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlin Patterson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Dayton Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Oakwood, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dayton Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .494. However, it's not like Oakwood struggles in that department as they've averaged .465. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
