Softball Recap: Algona's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Algona lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Webster City, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Bulldogs blew past the Lynx 14-6 on Monday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Algona, bringing their record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Webster City, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Algona will venture away from home to take on St. Edmond at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gaels' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Webster City, they are taking a road trip to face off against Fort Dodge at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
