The Russell Broncos are taking a road trip to face off against the Hill City Ringnecks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Russell will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Russell didn't have too much trouble with Trego as they won 48-30.

Russell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kelvie Reeves, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 steals. Reeves has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 22 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Birney, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.
Russell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hill City). They walked away with a 45-32 victory over Thunder Ridge on Monday.
Hill City's win came from a few key players Russell will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rylie Minium, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (six). Sada Nelson was another key player, going 5-for-10 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds.
Russell pushed their record up to 10-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Hill City, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-17.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Russell has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 25.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Hill City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Russell against Hill City when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Russell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
