Softball Recap: 17 Straight Home Wins for Cascade

Cascade came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bethesda Christian Patriots a 10-0 shutout. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Macey Pugh was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Tara Gruca, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cascade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Cascade's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Bethesda Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cascade will host McCutcheon at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bethesda Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Fountain Central at 5:30 p.m.
