Basketball Game Preview: Howells-Dodge Jaguars vs. North Bend Central Tigers

Howells-Dodge hasn't had much luck against North Bend Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jaguars duke it out with the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Howells-Dodge is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Twin River: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Howells-Dodge blew Twin River out of the water with a 58-28 final score. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Bend Central). They breezed past Tekamah-Herman to the tune of 68-17 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Howells-Dodge pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points over those games. As for North Bend Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Howells-Dodge came up short against North Bend Central when the teams last played last Monday, falling 44-38. Can Howells-Dodge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
