Softball Recap: Holmes Huskies vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS

Holmes had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-19 to make it 12. They lost 18-3 to the Sotomayor WILDCATS. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the WILDCATS this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in February.

Holmes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alison Silva, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Silva has brought in this season.

As for Sotomayor, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Sotomayor's side, Mariah Flores was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Flores a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Sandera, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
