Volleyball Recap: Clinton Starts off Right with Win over Hardin Valley Academy

Clinton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks by a score of 3-1 on Monday. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Clinton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-21.

Macy Wandell paced Clinton's offense, picking up eight kills. Wandell got some help from Josie Moody and her 13 assists. Finally, Claire Barrett kept Clinton's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will face off against Knoxville Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hardin Valley Academy, they will square off against Knoxville Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
