Recap: Johnsburg Central Jaguars vs. Seton Catholic Central Knights

Sadly, the Johnsburg Central Jaguars are still looking for their first win of the season after 15 matchups. They took a serious blow against Seton Catholic Central on Tuesday, falling 61-32. Johnsburg Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.

Despite the loss, Johnsburg Central saw an underclassman step up: Nick Sauer-Jones scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. Sauer-Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Nate Vanderwarker was another key contributor, scoring three points along with seven steals.

Aiden Pearl continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Seton Catholic Central, dropping a double-double on 35 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pearl has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Oliver Hughes, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Johnsburg Central's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.5 points per game. As for Seton Catholic Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-14.

As for Seton Catholic Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Seton Catholic Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
