Cindy Avitia was the 42-37 winner over Apostles Lutheran when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cindy Avitia Jaguars were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 50-49 to the Apostles Lutheran Falcons. The Jaguars' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Leading Apostles Lutheran to victory were Jeremy Bork and Aiden Kwak. Bork dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 boards, while Kwak dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Bork has scored at least a third of Apostles Lutheran's points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Zhang, who posted eight points along with six boards and five steals.

Cindy Avitia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Apostles Lutheran, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.

Cindy Avitia will host KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Apostles Lutheran, they will head out to take on Stratford Prep at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
