Volleyball Recap: Cimarron Comes Up Short

Cimarron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Southwestern Heights Mustangs. The Bluejays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

While Cimarron had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Jaylee Schilling and Bradie Burkhart, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Quinn Campbell and her 15 assists. Schilling also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alyssa Bogner, each putting up two.

Cimarron's defeat dropped their record down to 18-17. As for Southwestern Heights, their win bumped their record up to 17-15.

Cimarron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Russell on the 20th. As for Southwestern Heights, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Holcomb on the 20th.
