Basketball Recap: LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls vs. South Fort Myers Wolfpack
The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls lost to the South Fort Myers Wolfpack back in November of 2021, but the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls didn't allow the South Fort Myers Wolfpack the same satisfaction on Tuesday. LaBelle blew past the Wolfpack, posting a 70-25 victory at home. With that win, LaBelle brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
It was another big night for Marissa Burchard, who shot 7-for-16 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 41 points and 12 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of LaBelle's points. Another player making a difference was Latraevia Belvin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
LaBelle is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for South Fort Myers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
LaBelle will square off against the Tigers at TBD on Monday. As for South Fort Myers, they will head out on the road to challenge the King's at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southwest Florida Christian is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
