Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Regional Hawks vs. Amistad Wolves

The Woodland Regional Hawks just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Amistad Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Woodland Regional is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Derby, posting a 93-22 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks who have now won three games in a row.

Meanwhile, in Saturday's Canine Competition, Amistad had to take the L. They took a blow against Bunnell on Saturday, falling 95-62. Even though they lost, the Wolves' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.9 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Woodland Regional will need focus on slowing down Takki Oliver, one of several Amistad players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 19 points in addition to six boards and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Chaparro, who had 14 points and seven assists.

Even though they lost, Amistad was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Woodland Regional's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Amistad, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
