Football Game Preview: Millington Central Trojans vs. Ridgeway Roadrunners

The Millington Central Trojans will face off against the Ridgeway Roadrunners at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Millington Central is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Brighton on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Trojans lost 41-21 to the Cardinals.

Millington Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cole Hawkins, who rushed for 63 yards and two scores, and John Thomas, who picked up 87 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Ridgeway was beaten by Haywood 65-12 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Tomcats are ranked 74th).

Ridgeway dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Millington Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything came up roses for Millington Central against Ridgeway when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 35-0 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Roadrunners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
