It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gridley had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 20-10 victory over the University Prep Panthers. The win was just business as usual for the Bulldogs, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.

Gridley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jace Griggs, who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 55 yards. Benny Dewsnup helped out on the ground, rushing for 86 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gridley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Gridley's record is now 11-0. As for University Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, Gridley will challenge Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bulldogs 9.5, the Bears 10.4) so any points scored will be well earned. University Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
