Baseball Recap: Hernando Victorious

Hernando extended their postseason success on Thursday against North Marion. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Colts, sneaking past 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Leopards: when they faced off against the Colts on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Michael Saltsman looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Kaine Ellis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Palmer Looper was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Hernando's victory bumped their record up to 16-13. As for North Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 16-13.

Coming up, Hernando will be playing at home against The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Leopards' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buffalo have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. North Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
