Ferndale had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings with a sharp 14-6 win on Thursday. Considering the Yellow Jackets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Josh Mitchell made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Hrivnak, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Ferenchik, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs.
