Basketball Game Preview: Dripping Springs Tigers vs. Lake Travis Cavaliers

The Dripping Springs Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Lake Travis Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Dripping Springs had to suffer through a 63-32 loss at the hands of Bowie. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 716th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, Lake Travis earned a 48-35 win over Del Valle on Wednesday.

Lake Travis' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-11. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Dripping Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.

Dripping Springs was dealt a bruising 56-19 defeat at the hands of Lake Travis in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dripping Springs was down 31-9.
