Volleyball Recap: Smithfield Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Smithfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Lafayette Rams on Wednesday. Packers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Rams since Wednesday.

Smithfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-23, 25-23, 26-23.

Coming up, Smithfield will face off against Bruton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lafayette, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Warhill on the 28th.
