Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Emerson

Emerson won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way on Monday too. Emerson blew past Liberty 10-1. With that win, the Mavericks brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Addison Hudnall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

In other batting news, Amilee Stapp was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Gianna Lipsky also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Emerson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive games.

Emerson's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Emerson will face off against rival Heritage at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Liberty is set to take on their familiar foe Frisco at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
