Basketball Recap: Overlake Has No Trouble Against South Whidbey

It was a Battle of the Birds when Overlake challenged South Whidbey on Saturday. The Overlake Owls were the clear victor by a 55-35 margin over the South Whidbey Falcons. The Owls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Robby Sullivan, who posted nine points and four steals. Sullivan is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Northup, who scored eight points and three steals.

Overlake's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for South Whidbey, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-6.

Overlake will take on King's at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for South Whidbey, they will face off against Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Whidbey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.
