Basketball Recap: Dunnellon Piles Up the Points Against Lake Weir

Dunnellon posted their biggest victory since December 12, 2024 on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lake Weir Hurricanes 56-9. With the Tigers ahead 28-2 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dunnellon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tonyah Boggs, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten assists, and ten steals. Boggs is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Adriana Soto, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 17 points and three steals.

The win got Dunnellon back to even at 10-10. As for Lake Weir, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Dunnellon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-33 victory against Citrus on the 1st. Lake Weir has also already played their next contest (against North Marion), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
