Basketball Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy Takes a Loss

North Raleigh Christian Academy suffered their closest defeat since November 18, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Cary Academy Chargers by a score of 44-41. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, North Raleigh Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Khloe Moye, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. Moye's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Rikard, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Cary Academy found their leader in sophomore Gabrielle Young, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Young a new career-high. Avni Lutz was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight boards.

North Raleigh Christian Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-9. As for Cary Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy will welcome Ravenscroft at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenscroft knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully North Raleigh Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Cary Academy, they will host South Wake at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
