Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Appomattox County

Appomattox County came out on top against William Campbell on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Raiders blew past the Generals 13-3. The Raiders have beaten the Generals the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Generals has come to flipping the script.

Isaac Records looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Ashton Stratton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Wilson, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Appomattox County pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for William Campbell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's still a better percentage than their 4-14 record this season.
