Baseball Recap: Trinity Victorious

After losing to Penn-Trafford the last time they met, Trinity decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hillers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors on Monday, sneaking past 5-4.

J.R. Rieg looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Trinity's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Trinity's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Derek Falvo, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That run marked the first that Falvo scored this season.

Trinity's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Penn-Trafford, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Trinity will challenge Albert Gallatin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Penn-Trafford, they will face off against Hempfield Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
