Volleyball Recap: Isle of Wight Academy Falls Short Against Ranked Brunswick Academy

Isle of Wight Academy faced Brunswick Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Chargers came up short against the Vikings, falling 3-0. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

While Isle of Wight Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-17, 25-16.

Isle of Wight Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Camryn Williams and Jacy Jones. Williams had 13 digs, while Jones had 20 digs and two aces. Jones is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Isle of Wight Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Brunswick Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Looking ahead, Isle of Wight Academy is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Fuqua at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brunswick Academy, they have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on the 27th.
