Basketball Recap: Durham Academy Piles Up the Points Against Cross

Durham Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging an 82-35 win over the Cross Stingrays. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Durham Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Dorsette II, who made all 5 shots he took to post 15 points and six assists. Dorsette II is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Quin Frasher was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Dorsette II wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Durham Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Durham Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Cross, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Durham Academy and Concord Christian will round out the year against one another at at 10:15 a.m. on Monday. As for Cross, they will square off against Clinton at 12:45 p.m. on Monday.
