Avonworth had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the South Allegheny Gladiators with a sharp  15-4 win. The Antelopes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six  runs or more this season.
 Carson Franc made a big impact no matter where he played. He  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   two  hits. Franc was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI and two  doubles. Those  two  doubles gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Mason Metz, who  fired off two  home runs, three  runs,  and three  RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Alex Rowe, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
 Avonworth  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Allegheny only posted  an  OBP of  .292.
Avonworth pushed their record up to 8-1-1 with the  victory, which was their 11th straight  at home dating back to last season. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Allegheny, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avonworth will square off against Pine-Richland at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2  runs per game  this season, so the Antelopes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Allegheny, they will face off against West Mifflin at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Titans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last.
