Softball Recap: Cardinal Newman Takes a Loss

Cardinal Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seminole Ridge Hawks. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Cardinal Newman saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Luna, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Cardinal Newman's record now sits at 3-9. As for Seminole Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Coming up, Cardinal Newman will take on Boca Raton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Boca Raton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season. As for Seminole Ridge, they will square off against Spanish River at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Spanish River's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Seminole Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
