The Malcolm Clippers are taking a road trip to take on the Ralston Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Malcolm will be strutting in after a win while Ralston will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Malcolm sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Platteview. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Clippers.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-100) Malcolm actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-23, 16-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-12.
Meanwhile, Ralston came up short against Ashland-Greenwood on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Rams have struggled against the Bluejays recently, as their game on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-8.
Malcolm has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Ralston, their loss dropped their record down to 4-21.
Malcolm took their win against Ralston in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Malcolm since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
