Walnut Hills can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They snuck past Kings with a 51-47 win. The win was all the more spectacular given Walnut Hills' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while the Knights are ranked 183rd).
It was another big night for Cj Claxton, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Ty Austin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
West Clermont's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Walnut Hills, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.
West Clermont skirted past the Eagles 52-49 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Walnut Hills' Emmitt King, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
