Softball Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

If Southwestern was feeling good fresh off their 17-7 takedown of New Washington on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rebels lost 18-0 to the Providence Pioneers on Monday. The Rebels have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Southwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Providence, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern will face off against Switzerland County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pacers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.56 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Providence, they will host New Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.31 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
