Game recap: Servite jumps out to early lead against St. Paul

Servite (Anaheim, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 38-6 win over St. Paul (Santa Fe Springs, Calif.).

The Friars put up seven points in the opening frame. Servite scored on a Andrew Moore touchdown run and a touchdown.

SHS was up 24-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Moore touchdown run in the first quarter.

The Anaheim school expanded its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. The Friars' lone score in the quarter came on a passing touchdown.

Moore played well for Servite in the victory. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns.



The Swordsmen's lone touchdown came on a pass in the fourth quarter.

The victory was a step in the right direction for SHS, which was coming off a 42-0 defeat at the hands of Bishop Gorman in its previous game.

St. Paul (1-4) goes up against Harvard-Westlake in a Mission game matchup next week, while Servite (2-3) locks horns with Santa Margarita in a Trinity game.
