Volleyball Recap: University City's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

University City hadn't done well against Mt. Carmel recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. University City walked away with a 2-0 win over Mt. Carmel. For the Centurions, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Sundevils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

University City not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Mt. Carmel between 19 and 21 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21.

The win snapped University City's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-4 record. As for Mt. Carmel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

University City has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Catalina Foothills on the 22nd. As for Mt. Carmel, they will head out to take on San Marcos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Carmel is facing San Marcos at the right time seeing as San Marcos is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
