Volleyball Recap: Niles North Now 11-3 over Last 14 Games

Niles West typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Niles North proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Wolves. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Wolves back in April, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Niles North never let Niles West on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20.

Niles North was led to victory by Samuel Peng and Rafael dan Bartilad. Peng had 27 assists and four digs, while Bartilad had 13 digs and two assists. Those 27 assists gave Peng a new career-high.

Niles North has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. As for Niles West, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-11 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Niles North is set to face off against their familiar foe Highland Park at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Niles West will challenge rival Vernon Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
