Soccer Game Preview: Manteca vs. Patterson

The Manteca Buffaloes will venture away from home to square off against the Patterson Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Manteca has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the sixth.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Manteca's offense. They fell just short of Sierra by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 765th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 73rd).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Patterson made sure to put some goals up on the board against Central Catholic on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 8-1 win. The match marked the Tigers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Patterson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-0-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four contests. As for Manteca, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
