Basketball Recap: Stafford Falls Despite Big Games from Deloni Hall and Mikya Williams

After flying high against Worthing last Tuesday, Stafford came back down to earth. The Stafford Spartans received a blow on Friday as they fell 56-42 to the Sealy Tigers. The Spartans were probably out for revenge after losing 46-40 to them when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Stafford had strong showings from Mikya Williams, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points and six boards, and Deloni Hall, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in points.

Stafford moved to 10-13 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Sealy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Stafford will be playing in front of their home fans against Almeta Crawford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sealy, they will venture away from home to challenge Harmony School of Innovation at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
