Basketball Recap: Checotah Starts Season with Loss at Home

Checotah unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Poteau Pirates on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Poteau's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Checotah will face off against Jay at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Poteau, they will venture away from home to square off against Sallisaw at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th.
