Softball Preview: Riverdale Rams vs. Hall Red Devils        
        
		
            
 Riverdale and Hall are an even 3-3 against one another  since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Riverdale Rams will head out on the road to  face off against  the Hall Red Devils at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Riverdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9  runs per game  this season.
 On Monday,  it was close, but  Riverdale sidestepped Erie-Prophetstown for  an  8-6 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Riverdale.
 The team  relied heavily on  Claire Beeler, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Breckin DeLaRosa, who  went 1-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Meanwhile, Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They lost  15-1 to Orion.
 Riverdale's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-13. As for Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.
Hall's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Riverdale has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9.2  hits per game. It's a different story for Hall, though, as  they've been averaging 9.5. Given Riverdale's sizable advantage in that area, Hall will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Riverdale took their  victory against Hall  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  19-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverdale since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
