The Ashe County Huskies will venture away from home to take on the Hibriten Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ashe County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Ashe County took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against West Wilkes, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Ashe County came out on top in a nail-biter against West Wilkes on Wednesday, sneaking past 9-8.

Ashe County let Addi Williams and Ava Roten run wild. Williams scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Roten scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That stolen base was Williams' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Osborne, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Hibriten waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 14-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Hibriten pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Ashe County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Ashe County skirted past Hibriten 7-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ashe County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
