Softball Recap: Arlington's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Arlington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Reading Memorial, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Spy Ponders fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Spy Ponders' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Arlington saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Lucente, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ceci Zawacki was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Arlington's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Reading Memorial, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington will face off against Westport at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Reading Memorial, they will square off against Winchester at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red & Black have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
