Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Widefield

Widefield won against Palmer on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Gladiators never let the Terrors get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Gladiators in their matchups with the Terrors: they've now won seven in a row.

Nick Prantl was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Brody Gizzi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Widefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmer only posted an OBP of .167.

Widefield's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Palmer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
